Aerosmith is an American hard rock band from Boston, Massachusetts.
Formed in 1970, its members are sometimes referred to as “The Bad Boys of Boston”. His typical 1970s hard rock style, rooted in the blues, came to also incorporate elements of pop, metal and rhythm and blues, and inspired many later rock and metal artists.
Aerosmith is one of the most successful rock bands, with 200 million albums sold worldwide, including 67 million in the United States. The band members placed 21 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and 9 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock List. They have also won 4 Grammy Awards and 10 MTV Video Music Awards (category in which they come first). They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 and were ranked 57th among Rolling Stone Magazine’s 100 Greatest Artists of All Time in 2005.
